Year in review and WIP

Well for about a year now I've been really into cross stitching.  I've finished a few smaller projects but this monster is my current WIP. It was started June 8, 2025 and is currently 30% complete.  81,976 stitches complete - 191,302 stitches to go                                      This is what the finished project will look like. Projected finish is early October 2026. Year in review Zelda - 67540 stitches I haven't decided what I'm doing with this one yet.

I Smell Children......

One of the BEST movies of all times, HOCUS POCUS of course. So my current work in progress is going to be a wall hanging. Well, 2 actually. One for me and one for a very good friend who likes Hocus Pocus maybe more than I do. Here's my progress so far. Patterns are from the FandomInStitches.com . I'm just doing the center part for a wall hanging. Maybe I'll do a larger quilt down the road.    I will update when I've got the tops complete. UPDATE: Here is the completed wall hanging. I absolutely LOVE it!!

Bundle of Joy

Babies are always such a blessing.  I made this for my cousin's first baby, due in October. (ok, technically she is my 1st cousin 1x removed, yeah I'm a genealogy nerd too) She LOVES Beauty and the Beast so I just had to incorporate that into the quilt somewhere even though she is having a boy.  I am so thrilled with how this came out and I can't wait to give it to her this weekend!! Most of the patterns came from FandomInStitches.com with the exception of the teddy bear and the pig (aka Charlotte's web).  The bear pattern I made up and will get it posted here at some point when I fix all of the errors in the pattern.  The pig pattern is from Quilting in Amsterday . I just hand stitched a spider and web in the corner. I still need LOTS of practice with free motion quilting but I had so much fun.  Here are some close ups of the blocks. The lighting wasn't great. Hopefully I will get some better pics with the mommy-to-be this weekend. Here are some of the blocks ...
