T-shirt quilts

Several months ago I was asked if I could make a t-shirt quilt for a friend who lost her husband a couple of years ago. She showed up with a laundry basket full of t-shirts. She wanted a Queen size quilt but lives in Florida so we didn't want it to be too heavy. We went through the t-shirts to prioritize the ones she really wanted in the main quilt and said I could do what I wanted with the rest and the quilt pattern was totally up to me.  Well not only did we end up with what turned out to be more like a King size quilt but 2 lap quilts and a pillow! I used every t-shirt including any logos or images that were on the sleeves or pockets.  I used the lightest batting I could find and I'm so happy with how they came out!!!   The pictures aren't the best but I did the best I could with all of the rainy days we've been having and they needed to make their way to Florida this week. So here we are, the last several months of sewing.

Silence In The Library

I am so excited to have my Silence In The Library quilt top assembled!!!  The original quilt design by Jeanie Payment along with almost all of the blocks are available over at FandomInStitches.com. 8 of the blocks are my own design. I will post links to those for you in the block descriptions. All of my Doctor Who patterns can be found here . The only adjustment I made to Jeanie's original design is the crack in the wall above the TARDIS. More information on that block can be found here . So here's a little tour of the quilt. Starting at the top left. 1st Row Raven sitting on a book titled "Face The Raven" representing Clara. 4 books titled "Impossible Astronaut", "Voyage of the Damned", "Mummy on the Orient Express" and "The Lodg er" 2nd Row Stacked books titled "The Unicorn And The Wasp", "Silence" and "101 Ways To Make A Souffle". The Souffle title is another reference to Clara aka souffle girl. ...

Doctor Who - The Crack In The Wall

It doesn't look like much now. Just wait until you see it in the finished quilt!!!  As I was assembling my Silence In The Library quilt I felt like it needed just a little something else to finish it off. My brilliant daughter said what about a crack in the wall. PERFECT!!! So I present to you your very own crack in the wall. Pattern Block size: 12" x 12" Difficulty: 2 This pattern is free for personal and non-profit use only. Not to be used for manufacture or distribution.
