T-shirt quilts

Several months ago I was asked if I could make a t-shirt quilt for a friend who lost her husband a couple of years ago. She showed up with a laundry basket full of t-shirts. She wanted a Queen size quilt but lives in Florida so we didn't want it to be too heavy. We went through the t-shirts to prioritize the ones she really wanted in the main quilt and said I could do what I wanted with the rest and the quilt pattern was totally up to me.  Well not only did we end up with what turned out to be more like a King size quilt but 2 lap quilts and a pillow! I used every t-shirt including any logos or images that were on the sleeves or pockets.  I used the lightest batting I could find and I'm so happy with how they came out!!!   The pictures aren't the best but I did the best I could with all of the rainy days we've been having and they needed to make their way to Florida this week. So here we are, the last several months of sewing.

2022 Goal - Complete unfinished WIP's & untested patterns

So I set myself a goal for 2022 to finished all of my WIP's and test all of my untested patterns.  

I am starting the year off with:

  • T-shirt quilt WIP - 3/26/22 COMPLETED with bonus pillow
  • Owl House Quilt - 3/12/22 COMPLETED
  • Lumity (Luz and Amity from The Owl House) wall hanging - 3/3/22 COMPLETED
  • Bargello quilt top 3/29/22 COMPLETED
  • Big Hero 6 quilt top 7/17/2022 COMPLETED
  • Labyrinth quilt WIP June 2024 COMPLETE
  • Doctor Who quilt WIP
  • Nightmare Before Christmas random blocks - 12/31/2022 COMPLETE
  • Random test blocks -- What to do with them
  • 47 untested patterns (as of 7/24/2024 9 untested patterns!). If you are interested in testing any of these blocks let me know and I would be happy to send you a link to the pattern. If you are a Fandominstitches.com tester already most of these patterns are on the test spreadsheet.

Rainbow TARDIS - Road Trip Project

What do you do on a long road trip when you're a passenger?  I decided to take up cross stitching which I haven't done in a very, very long time.  I tried taking a photo each day of my progress but I did miss one day during our travels.  This took me a total of 41 days to complete.  Now I just need to decide what I'm going to do with it! Pattern is by Alice Alan and purchased at AICrossStitch on Etsy. 14 count Aida cloth using DMC floss 21,861 stitches
