New Adventures In Machine Embroidery

I've been playing and learning more about my embroidery machine over the last two weeks.  LOVE IT!  It has it's limitations since it will only take a 4x4 hoop. But I can work with that. Have had some Ooooops moments. But overall I think I've done rather well.

This on will go into a block for my Doctor Who 'Silence In The Library' quilt. Not 100% a Van Gogh but I think it conveys the meaning.

Experimenting with floating my fabric.  LOVE this design!!!

First practice run with thee sunflower design

Made a little mug rug to go on my desk.

Tested out a quilt label idea

Making a sketchbook carrier for my DD to put in her backpack so her sketchbook doesn't get all banged up. This was just the test. Working on the real one now.

SO close!!!! Almost had it all in one go, then on the 3rd one I didn't flip it correctly.  No problem, cut them all apart. Stitched one more correctly and pieced everything together. It was good practice on how to orient the designs!

Adventures In Raw Edge Applique

So I tried something new, raw edge applique. In hindsight I should have started with a more simple pattern. But I loved this pattern and knew my daughter would absolutely love it. Here is a link to the first video in the series https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7iigK0KV3-w I loved learning this technique and will incorporate it in some projects in the future. Lisa is amazing at explaining different ways to implement this technique. I highly recommend checking out her channel!
